Electrostatic Precipitator

In thermal power plants, metallurgical industry cement plants air pollution control remains as critical as ever. Suspended Particulate Matter (SPM) constitutes one of the major air pollutants and cause many respiratory diseases including the dreaded silicosis.
The flue gas from a coal fired thermal power station contains fine particles of ash with size varying from 80 microns to less than 5 microns. Electro Static Precipitators (ESP) are used to knock down the ash particles from the hot flue gas through a high voltage charge creating a transverse motion of the particles and getting attached to the collecting electrode. ESP’s are designed to maintain SPM concentration within permissible limits less than 115 mg/nm3 in India.

Air Pollution Norms

The following table gives air pollution norms from thermal power plants.
In India maximum allowable maximum permissible SPM is 150 mg/ cubic meter. Sooner India will be adopting European standards.

Electrodes of ESP

Our principals in Ukraine manufacture horizontal filters with electrodes height from 4 to 12 meters and with inter electrode clearance from 300 – 400 mm and more as required Project offices and manufacturing facilities are “Lonking Fujian” and PJSC “Berdichev machine-building plant” Progress “, located in China and the Ukraine, allow us to design and produce gas treatment equipment at competitive prices.
We design systems and supply electrodes of ESP that can bring down SPM to maximum 50 mg/ NM3 of flue gases in coal fired power plants.

Transformer Rectifiers and Control

We export Transformer- Rectifier sets (T-R) sets and control cabinets for ESP units from India. We supply hermetically sealed T-R sets with HV DC current up to 4400 ma and DC output voltage up to 150 KV. Our normal production consists of horizontal DC bus with bus shield and earthling switch.

We can also supply T-R sets with vertical HT bushes.  We supply T-R sets suitable for outdoor duty with maximum and minimum ambient temperature of+ 50 *C and -40 *C.  The units are available in single phase and three phase input power

Control Cabinets for T-R Sets

Control Cabinets use microprocessor controller for control of high voltage Dc power to ESP unit. The communication with the host computer and different units is done by Modbus protocol.  The controller maintains high voltage close to flash over voltage limit for any gas condition. There is inbuilt start ramp function that increases ESP power until flash over takes place or the voltage and current permissible limits reach.

The controller offers choice between voltage control and current control, which can be preset. Software programme for the ramp control keeps the flash over frequency closer to the preset values allowing wide variation in ESP conditions.
The control cabinet provides warning alarms and tripping alarms. Warning alarms can be TR oil temperature, Thyristor temperature, TR oil level etc.  Tripping can be due to TR over pressure, over temperature, primary overload, open interlock etc.
Most of the setting commands are menu controlled. We source cabinets, switch gear units and meters from reputed manufacturers like Siemens. Detailed operating and maintenance manuals are provided along with the units.
